Re: Team for Accrington
For me Collins should play & be benched at the weekend so...

Randolph

Arbeloa (replaced by Byram so ready for Saints)
Ogbonna
Oxford
Aurthur
Fergie (replaced by Tore if winning/after 65)
Noble
Nordveit (needs to prove himself - bench weekend)
Lanzini
Zaza (ditto nordveit)
Fletcher

You look at that team & think, those should beat Accrington Stanley..then you remember it's West Ham

If we lose this then Billic is under real pressure.

Agree about Fernandes, but don't hold your breathe as half the season will be gone before he gets a chance like Antonio and Bilic sees what we saw at the start of the season. Cost us Champions League.

We need a strong team capable of winning by a good few goals.
I can't see us fielding a weaker team and risk getting embarrassed further, no Europe so no bollocks about resting people.

Difficult to give too much of a shit but I'd play some of the players that are out of form or coming back from injury in the hope they might find some against shit opposition. Possibly a recipe for disaster....so:

-------------------------butterfingers spaniard

Arbeloa-------Oxford-------Welsh Disaster--------Masuaku

---------Captain Average---------Non CB Kouyate---------

Feghouli---------------Lanzini------------------------Tore

--------------------------Zaza

Re: Team for Accrington
Looking forward to seeing Fernandes play. My hope from the brief highlights of him is that he is this season's Lanzini and our one excellent surprise signing. Stick him in centre mid and see what he can do. Hoping he is the real deal and can get in the first team. We need a lift of some sort.

Re: Team for Accrington
Can see Reece Oxford starting and a bench place for Declan Rice given the present shambles in defence. Martinez, Fernandes, and Marcus Browne should stake a claim too.

I would like to see Randolph,Oxford, Fletcher and Fernandes all start. Time to give youth a chance.

Re: Team for Accrington
The 4-4-2 with a midfield diamond did well the other year.

Kouyate holding, with Payet and Antonio, left and right. Lanzini at the head of the diamond, just behind Zaza and Fletcher up top.

I'd put Randolph between the sticks with Ogbonna and Oxford in front of him. That Arthur chap on the left, with Byram on the left.

Adrian, Ginge and Noble get a well earned (deserved) spell on the bench.

We must take this competition more seriously this year.

Big dilemma here - whether to take a look at fringe/new players like Arbeloa, Fernandes, Fletcher, or give current first-teamers the chance to get their shit together. It would be exceedingly embarrassing to go out to this lot, but the PL has to be the priority. Wouldn't surprise me if Slav pretty much separates the players into two different teams this week to train apart for each match.

Re: Team for Accrington
We need to win this one as much for confidence as well as a cup run.

I would go for a strong line up but with a couple of youngsters and a couple needing games for fitness.

Randolph
Byram
Reid/Ogbonna
Oxford
Arthur

Nordtveit
Obiang
Fernandes

Tore
